Steve Knuth-- Owner AgWest Commodities, LLC.  Steve grew up on a family farm in south central Nebraska.  Three decades of involvement in ag-related businesses has provided a diverse understanding of production agriculture and the challenges producers face.  Steve has traded futures and options since 1988 and has been a licensed commodity broker since 1990.  In 1999, he and Susan Platt co-founded AgWest Commodities with a mission of delivering simple yet affective price risk management programs to producers.

Paul Mussman-- President.  As a graduate from Fort Hays State University in Agri-Business and 20 plus years of ag production experience in Oklahoma, Kansas and now Nebraska, Paul has learned first hand the importance a solid and disciplined marketing plan in today's ever changing global market place.  Paul's focus is listening and implementing the producer's needs.  Paul still remains in close contact with ag producers but also assists with day to day business operations.   

Carrie Trompke-- VP of Financial Affairs.  Carrie grew up on a family farm north of Loomis and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska.  She has a solid understanding of agriculture and possesses strong organizational and communication skills which allow her to work effectively with producers.  Carrie's primary responsibilities are in managing the company's financial affairs and overseeing our risk management.   

David Bohm-- CMA Program Director/Senior Cash Advisor.  David grew up working on the family farm.  He managed several elevators for Continental Grain over a period of 21 years.  Following Continental, he also worked for Cargill and DeBruce Grain.  David brings a wealth of knowledge of the commercial side of this business which is of great benefit to our RPM customers.  David feels the most important item we accomplish with our RPM clients is the one thing they struggle with the most-- selling the grain.    

Jim Engler-- Senior Hedge Broker/Cash Advisor.  Jim brings to AgWest sixteen years of experience as a grain merchant and manager of a commercial elevator at Holdrege, Nebraska.  Producers must be equally aware of, and as concerned with, local basis as they are with flat price.  Jim's understanding of commercial activity and historical basis movement is of tremendous benefit to our clientele.  

Mike Pelster-- Hedge Broker/Cash Advisor.  Mike is a graduate from the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) with a bachelor's degree in Marketing and a master's degree in Business Administration.  While working toward his higher education, he served as the Assistant Director of Recruitment for UNK.  His experience of working with people from all over the world has helped him understand that each individual has individual needs.  With this understanding, Mike brings a personal approach to his partnership with ag producers, looking to understand their goals and matching them with the AgWest touch that will best help them achieve these goals.  

Justin Ropers--Broker/Cash Advisor Associate. Justin attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Ag Business and Entrepreneurship. Embracing his desire to help producers, he started his career in the ag industry from a  young age working for a flying service, learning the input needs of his customers. His strong foundation of communication skills will enable him to work well in our Buyer Relations department, relaying our customers’ needs to buyers across the Midwest.

Craig Poyser-- Hedge Broker/Cash Advisor.  Eighteen years in the retail fertilizer and chemical business engrained in Craig the importance of customer service. As a Certified Crop Advisor, Craig was heavily involved in developing crop production programs and practices. His key strength is his ability to recognize the risk factors of production agriculture. His goal is to preserve and enhance each client's profitability through proven risk management and sales execution techniques.  

Justin Trompke-- Hedge Broker/Cash Advisor.  Justin is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Agronomy.  Through his experience selling and servicing pivots for Holdrege Irrigation, he fully understands the needs of producers.  Justin's strongest asset is his ability to communicate efficiently with producers.   

Dana Kness-- Broker/Cash Advisor Associate.   Dana was born and raised in Holdrege.  With over thirty years experience within the commercial elevator realm and merchandizing background, Dana has moved her talents and skills to the producer level within AgWest.  She brings to the company many years of experience within the cash grain industry, an understanding of producer needs, and the challenges agricultural presents to the Midwest producer.  Dana heads up a new online tool called "GrainBridge" that connects buyers and sellers within the grain industry.  Convenience, comfort and reliability are three traits Dana strictly enforces within this communication service.  Dana now shares her extensive experience with numerous commercial facilities and all AgWest's GrainBridge customers. 

Jim Hodge-- Hedge Broker.  After receiving his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska, Jim became the third generation operator of their family's farm.  He is in the process of shifting this responsibility to his son which allows Jim to do what he enjoys the most, ag-marketing.  Over time, Jim developed a disciplined approach to marketing that has worked well for his operation and he's now offering years of trading experience and a rock solid discipline to assist other producers in successfully marketing their production.  

Chris Fahrenbruch-- Hedge Broker/Cash Advisor.   Chris received his bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  With the experience gained on the family farm and through his 5 years with AgWest Chris has learned the importance of a solid risk management plan.  He understands the risk that each producer faces and strives to add a professional partnership to each operation. Starting with AgWest as the Buyer Relations Manager, Chris incorporates his experiences to provide a unique version of customer service to each producer he serves.    

Dick Hickenbottom--Hedge Broker. Through thirty years' involvement with farming, Dick's strength comes in his ability to relate to producers and understand their needs.  In conjunction with row-crop, he operated a farrow-to-finish hog operation and a 700 head background lot for a number of years.    

Dennis Macfee-- Hedge Broker/Cash Advisor.  Dennis has been directly involved in production agriculture his entire career with experience on the family farm, in a large Western Kansas commercial feed yard, and a regional agronomy retailer in Nebraska. His background has instilled the belief that bringing value along with attention to detail to a partnership with a customer is critical in building a solid working relationship.

Josh Frizzell-- Hedge Broker/Cash Advisor.   Spending over 20 years in the commercial grain industry, Josh fully understands the risk and uncertainty farmers face. Wearing a merchandisers hat for over a decade, he has witnessed the emotional connection farmers feel for the crop they’re raising each and every day that makes it hard to execute a plan. He pairs that understanding with dual degrees from UNK in Ag Business and Business Administration-Marketing and a dedication to top-level customer service to help his clients build and follow through with their production marketing plan.

Rylee Houser--Buyer Relations Associate.  Rylee is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with degrees in Management and Marketing with an International Business minor. During her time at OSU, she learned the importance of hard work and attention to detail.  Rylee's curriculum encompassed a wide range of topics which she applies to numerous aspects of the business.  Rylee's education combined with her customer service skills and up to date experience within a prominent Agricultural Bank make her a great asset for AgWest and programs AgWest represents. 

Jami Swanson-- Administrative Assistant/Customer Accounts.   Jami is a graduate of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture with a degree in Ag Business. She grew up in Holdrege and now resides on a family farm near Atlanta, Nebraska.  Jami's up-to-date knowledge of office systems is of great benefit to ag-related customers and to our AgWest staff.   

Reese Robison-- Marketing & Event Coordinator.   Reese was raised on a farm in south central Iowa and attended the University of Nebraska­-Lincoln, receiving a bachelor's in Agricultural Communications with an emphasis on Advertising. She brings a wide variety of communication and organizational skills to the team she obtained through coursework, multiple internships and recruitment work for the college. Reese’s primary focus within AgWest is to manage the full meeting schedule as well as the company’s marketing efforts and publications. 

Jackie Holt-- Client Services/Broker Assistant.   Jackie grew up on a farm and after business school she returned to the area, now living on a farm and ranch with her husband and children. Prior to starting with AgWest Jackie worked for 14 years as an animal pharmaceutical rep, equipping her with the ability to understand the ag producer and give quality customer service.

Angela Vincent-- Client Services/Broker Assistant.  Angela was born and raised on a family farm and livestock operation in northern Custer County.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney majoring in Agribusiness.  Angela has worked in the banking industry for eleven years, with five years of selling crop insurance and the remainder being a lending assistant and operations manager for a local community bank.  This experience and background allows Angela to understand the financial needs of our customers and a the ability to deliver quality customer service.

Leigh Ivey-- Client Services/Broker Assistant.   Leigh brings hands-on experience from their farming and ranching operation and a bachelor’s degree from UNK to the AgWest team. Her cheerful voice and understanding of the day-to-day activities on the farm make her a great lead on the phone to serve our customer base.

Sandi Samuelson-- Client Services/Broker Assistant.   Sandi has spent her entire career in client services, placing her customers’ needs at the top of her priority list. Her friendly voice has greeted many in various industries and her experience at a local cooperative prepared her for AgWest’s customer base.  She enjoys meeting clients, building relationships day after day and her account administration capability is a great addition to our team.

Molly Trausch--Buyer Relations Associate. Molly grew up on a family farm near Minden and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. After graduation, she served a community in southern Kansas as an Extension Educator working with 4-H youth. Returning to Nebraska, she joined the customer service team at a large grain company where she had the opportunity to further her producer communication experience. Molly’s insight from her years on the other side of the grain-buying desk makes her a valuable member of the Buyer Relations team, handling AgWest customer bushels and communicating their needs to buyers.
